Comet Kohoutek, December 1973.  Photographed by Charles Coffey & Greg Babcock (me).  I was the timer, Charles did the work.  The photograph was from Blanton Road, near the KVAL TV driveway,just South of the Eugene, Oregon city limits.  The exposure is 5 minutes using 400 iso Kodak Tri-X film.  Taken through a 200mm f/4 Telephoto Lens mounted on an 8 inch Celestron.  Though this comet was considered a "bust" by comparison to expectations, we got some good looks and the above image was truly one the best I saw of it.  Note, the tale faintly extends toward the edge of the image.
